Q. How do I dispute a parking ticket?

If you have received a parking ticket and would like to dispute it, come to the police station and speak with the Shift Supervisor. Tickets will not be mediated over the phone.

Q. What is the overnight parking regulation?

Village Ordinance prohibits parking vehicles on a village street between 2:00 a.m. - 5:00 a.m. Overnight parking permission during these hours can be granted by contacting the Police Department. Information required is:

- Requestor's last name

- Requestor's address

- Location of where vehicle is parked

- Phone number where owner of vehicle can be reached

- Make of vehicle

- Model of vehicle

- Color of vehicle

- License plate number

- State the license plate is from

- Reason why vehicle cannot be parked in driveway

Generally, overnight parking will be granted only 3 times a month per vehicle, unless there is construction of your driveway. If residents need to request longer than 3 nights, special permission may be granted by calling the Bloomingdale Police Department Records Division at (630) 529-9868.

Q. Can I park my car on the street during a snow storm?

There is no parking on any street in the Village of Bloomingdale whenever an accumulation of snow and/or ice of two (2) inches or more exists. Vehicles are not allowed to park on the street for the duration of the storm. Vehicles may be parked on the street only when snowplows are done clearing the streets.

Q. What are the parking regulations and fines?

Some of the most common parking regulations are:

Parking in a handicapped spot (including the striped safety zone around the parking spot). A handicapped spot can be marked by a sign and/or ground markings: $250.00 Fine

The fine for all of the parking violations noted below is $25.00

  • Overnight parking on a Village street from 2:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.
  • Parking in a Fire lane, Safety zone, or No parking Zone 
  • Overtime parking
  • Parking over the sidewalk 
  • Parking parallel on apron of your driveway
  • Parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant
  • Parking within 15 feet of an intersection
  • Parking on the street when 2 or more inches of snowfall accumulation is on street
  • Parking left wheel to curb

If parking tickets are not paid in a timely manner, they will be sent to a collection agency and the fines will increase.
