Construction Updates
Summer 2012 Road Construction:
Pavement Reconstruction
Reconstruction of Brewster Court - includes removal and replacement of the existing asphalt pavement and the addition of concrete curb and gutter. The new roadway will be the same width as the existing road; no widening is planned.
Reconstruction of Norton Lane from Greenway to Norton Drive, Norton Drive from Norton Lane to Sutherland Lane, and Sutherland Lane from Greenway to Norton Drive - includes the removal and replacement of all concrete curb and gutter, driveway aprons, and 2.5" of the existing asphalt pavement. As part of the work, the Village will be installing a depressed curb at each driveway. This means the "bump" at the curb of each driveway will be eliminated, and a smooth transition from the street to each driveway will be constructed.
This work will begin mid-May and will take approximately 2 ½ months to complete. During construction, these roads will be closed to through traffic. If you live in the construction zone you will be permitted to proceed past the barricades to reach your residence.
Pavement Overlay
Overlay maintenance consists of pavement patching, curb and gutter repairs to correct drainage deficiencies, sidewalk repair, storm sewer repairs and a new asphalt road surface. The following streets will receive pavement overlay:
Broker Road from St. Francis to North Circle
St. Francis from Broker to End
Fire Dept Access Road from Bloomingdale Road to the Village Hall parking lot
This work will begin mid-May and will take approximately 2 ½ months to complete. Local signage consisting of "Road Construction Ahead" signs will be posted prior to construction.
Asphalt Surface Treatment - Fog Seal
A Fog Seal is a light application of asphalt rejuvenator placed directly on the pavement with the intent of sealing the pavement and enriching the weathered and oxidized asphalt. This will extend the life of the pavement by slowing the deterioration of the asphalt surface. The following streets will receive asphalt surface treatment:
Colony Green Drive
Pinewood Lane
Elmwood Lane
Applewood Lane
Oakwood Lane
Laurel Lane
Birchwood Lane
Acorn Lane
This work will begin mid-May and will take approximately 2 ½ months to complete. Local signage consisting of "Road Construction Ahead" signs will be posted prior to construction.
