Water Distribution/Collection
Utilities - Water Distribution/Collection monitors and maintains 114 miles of water main of various types and sizes, 1,524 hydrants, 6,686 service valves and b-boxes, 1,419 mainline valves and 153 meter vaults. Programs include:
- Valve Maintenance- inspection and operation of each distribution valve once every five years.
- B-Box Maintenance - provides for inspection, adjustment, repair, or replacement of b-boxes.
- Hydrant Maintenance - inspection and annual flushing of hydrants at certain locations.
