Electronics Banned From Landfills
Effective January 1, 2012, TVs, computers, laptops, keyboards, monitors, printers, peripherals, VCR/DVD players, gaming systems, MP3 players and other electronic items are banned from Illinois landfills. The Village's waste hauler, Republic Services, no longer collects electronic waste at the curb.
The Bloomingdale Township Highway Department sponsors an Electronic Recycling Event the first Saturday of every month (except January, February, March & holiday weekends) at the Bloomingdale Township Garage, 123 N. Rosedale Ave., 8:00 a.m. to noon. A list of additional agencies accepting electronic equipment for recycling is available on the DuPage County website.
