Operations Division
The Operations Division is the largest division in the Police Department and includes the Patrol, Criminal Investigations/Youth, and Community Relations/Crime Prevention sections.
The Patrol Section provides essential services to the community in the areas of patrol, traffic, emergency and non-emergency response to calls for service. Patrol units are available 24 hours a day, 365 days per year to respond to calls.
The Criminal Investigations/Youth (CIY) Section consists of 1 Watch Commander and 5 Detectives. This section is responsible for the follow-up of criminal complaints and juvenile issues received from the Patrol Section or through self-initiated activity. Due to the volume of criminal complaints received, not all cases are assigned for follow-up investigation. Questions or concerns involving criminal investigations or juvenile issues should be directed to the Investigations Watch Commander at (630) 529-9868.
The Community Relations/Crime Prevention Section acts as a liaison to the community on behalf of the Police Department. This position is filled by a sworn officer and is responsible for providing information to the community.
