Q. What should I do if I see a stray dog?
Answers:
You may obtain a license by visiting the Village Hall during their normal business hours or at the Police Department on Saturdays between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. A short application needs to be filled out and then a license will be given to you that same day. A current rabies inoculation certificate number is required with each dog license application. There is no fee for the license.
Q. What do I do if I have a wild animal on my property?
The Bloomingdale Police Department does not respond to wild animal complaints on private property. Removal of animals from private property is the responsibility of the property owner. Police personnel do not handle complaints regarding wild animals unless there is a clear and immediate threat to public health, safety, or welfare. Check out our Living With Wildlife section of this website for helpful hints, and available resources.
Q. What are the fees when my dog is placed in the kennel?
There is a minimum initial Kennel Fee of $32.00 (thirty-two dollars) for any portion of the first 24 hours that the dog is initially logged in at the kennel. The Kennel Fee for every 24 hour time period thereafter (or portion thereof) is $15.00 (fifteen dollars).
Q. What should I do if I see a stray dog?
Please call our non-emergency number, (630) 529-9868, and an officer will be sent to locate and capture the dog.
