The Police Department sponsors a variety of programs.

Anonymous Crime Tip Line

The Anonymous Crime Tip Line provides citizens with an opportunity to report information to the Bloomingdale Police Department regarding a crime or an incident of which they have knowledge.

Character Counts!

The Bloomingdale Police Department is proud to be partnered with other community organizations and businesses to promote the Character Counts! Program.

Child Safety Seat Checks

The Bloomingdale Police Department offers checks of child restraint seats to Bloomingdale residents. Technicians are available by appointment only.

Citizen Police Academy

The Citizen Police Academy, which originated in 1988, was designed to present an overview of law enforcement and the job of a police officer to the public.

Citizen Volunteer in Police Service (VIP) Program

The Citizen Volunteer in Police Service Program is comprised of Bloomingdale residents that seek an active role in the community and are willing to give their time and experience.

File of Life

The File of Life is a mini-medical history that provides emergency personnel with helpful information during critical and/or life-threatening situations.

Neighborhood Watch

The Neighborhood Watch Program is a cooperative effort between the residents of Bloomingdale and the Bloomingdale Police Department.

RxBox - Dispose of Unused & Expired Medication Safely

An Rx Box for expired or unused medications is located behind Village Hall and in front of the Bloomingdale Police Department, 201 S. Bloomingdale Road. 

R911 Guardian Call System

The R911 Guardian Program is a computerized telephone call system usedto provide residents of DuPage County reassurance in knowing their well being will be checked on a regular basis.

Senior Citizen Advisory Council

The Senior Citizen Advisory Council continues to seek new members with fresh ideas to benefit senior citizens.

Street Smart Seniors

The program educates the participants (55 years or older) in the various aspects of police work.

T.A.L.K.

The T.A.L.K. program promotes a positive contact between police and young adults and provides an open forum to ask pertinent questions.

Youth Peer Jury

The Youth Peer Jury Program works with the Police Department and provides a meaningful and remedial method of dealing with selected juvenile (under age 17) offenders without referral to Juvenile Court.
