Citizen Police Academy
The Citizen Police Academy, which originated in 1988, is a series of 8-week sessions designed to present an overview of law enforcement and the job of a police officer to the public. Topics covered during the sessions include the following:
- Constitutional Law
- Juvenile Law
- Radar Enforcement
- Auto Theft Investigation
- Crime Scene Processing
- Use of Force
- Tours of the County Jail and Crime Lab
- and much more . . .
One 8-week Academy session is offered at least once during the year and classes are normally held on Wednesday evenings between 6:30 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. The Academy is open to all residents of the Village of Bloomingdale, and to owners and employees of businesses located in the Village. Class size is limited and there is no fee. Refreshments are served.
