CHARACTER COUNTS! Celebration Night

The Bloomingdale CHARACTER COUNTS! Coalition organizes an annual CHARACTER COUNTS! Celebration Night activity in Old Town Park in mid-October every year. The 2010 Celebration was held on Tuesday, October 19 in Old Town Park. This year's theme was "Coins for Caring". Jumbo jars were placed at the Bloomingdale's Village Hall, Police Department, Fire Department, Public Library, Park District and Township offices, as well as at Erickson, DuJardin, Westfield Middle, Winnebago, and St. Isidore schools in order to collect coins for one of the three nominated local community charities: Bloomingdale Lions Club, Marklund Center for Children and Bloomingdale "Shop with a Cop."
This year's theme was "Coins for Caring." Jumbo jars were placed at the Bloomingdale's Village Hall, Police Department, Fire Department, Public Library, Park District and Township offices, as well as at Erickson, DuJardin, Westfield Middle, Winnebago, and St. Isidore schools to collect coins one of the three nominated local charities; Bloomingdale Lions Club, Marklund Center for Children and Bloomingdale "Shop with a Cop." Students ages 14 and under attending the event cast their vote and Marklund Center for Children received the most votes, and will receive the $1,200 raised.
