Household Hazardous Waste (Household cleaners, Drain opener, Paints (oil based only), Mineral spirits, Strippers, Solvents, Insecticides, Herbicides, Flammables, Automotive fluids, Fluorescent fixtures, Household batteries, Mercury, Unknown hazardous substances ). The regional drop off facility is located behind Fire Station #4, 1979 Brookdale Road in Naperville. Open Saturdays and Sundays, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., excluding holidays. South of Diehl Road, off of IL Rte. 59 north of the Fox Valley Mall on the eastern side of IL Rte. 59.
Construction Material is not covered under the Village Contract. Free estimates for collection are available by calling Republic Services.
Unused prescriptions and expired over-the-counter drugs generated by residents may be dropped off in the Rx Box located in the lobby of the Bloomingdale Police Department. Please remove medications from original container and put in a plastic bag.
Appliances will be picked up on the regular collection day at no additional cost, but must be arranged for in advance by calling Republic Services 847-981-0091.
In the event of severe storms, the Village will provide storm damage collection of woody branches ½ inch to 6 inches in diameter. Please contact the Forestry Division at 630-671-5800 within 72 hours of storm for branch collection.
Branches under ½ inch in diameter, leaves, and vines are not included in the Village’s Branch Collection program, but may be placed in biodegradable bags or cans with a yard waste tag attached for collection by Republic Services. Yard waste collection commences on April 1st and continues through November 30th. Questions concerning Republic Services collections should be directed to 847-429-7370.
