2026 Street Improvement Project

The 2026 Village of Bloomingdale Street Improvement Project consists of two maintenance strategies:  Pavement Resurfacing and Hybrid Reconstruction.

Pavement Resurfacing:  includes removal and replacement of defective concrete curb and gutter, sidewalk and storm sewer structure repairs where necessary.  This work will be followed by the removal and replacement of 2.75" of the pavement surface.  The list of streets to receive pavement resurfacing is attached here 

Hybrid Reconstruction:  includes removal and replacement of all concrete curb and gutter and driveway aprons, and removal and replacement of defective sidewalk and storm sewer structure repairs where necessary.  This work will be followed by the removal and replacement of 2.75" of the pavement surface.  The list of streets to receive hybrid reconstruction is attached here
Street Improvement Project Construction Sequence:
  • Construction signage and barricades placed
  • Sawcutting existing concrete curb and sidewalk to be removed
  • Removal of defective concrete curb and sidewalk
  • Storm sewer structure repairs completed
  • Framing and placement of new concrete curb and sidewalk
  • Milling of existing deteriorated pavement
  • Pavement patching as necessary
  • Placement of the first 1.25" layer of new asphalt
  • Placement of final 1.5" layer of new asphalt surface
  • Sod restoration to disturbed areas
  • Replacement of pavement striping as necessary
The contractor will be performing this work on various streets throughout the Village.  Unforeseen circumstances such as poor weather and construction issues make it difficult to provide an exact date of when the contractor will be performing a particular task adjacent to your home.  If you would like to stay updated on the progress of the work, you are encouraged to periodically check the Current Project Status Map below.
